To show solidarity with our global tourism communities, who are experiencing unprecedented challenges, The University of Queensland, Australia, and the TourismX team have rushed forward the release of the fourth course run of our Tourism and Travel Management MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) – at the bargain basement verified enrollment offer of US $5 !! Learners can also audit the course free of charge.
Join a community of, to date, around 30,000 TourismX learners from over 200 countries - enroll here
[Enroll at any time through December 2020, and maybe beyond -- website editor]
Please feel free to forward to your networks – especially beyond our academic audiences – we consider TourismX a vital platform to enable dialogue between myriad affected tourism stakeholders, offer professional development opportunities and share ideas for envisaging tourism futures.
The course content does not directly deal with the current COVID-19 crisis, but we are accumulating additional resources, the Discussion Forum will actively canvas current debates and issues, and learner assessment can be shaped to create relevant learnings. Moreover, our course content shares fundamental knowledge highly relevant to the current crisis, including Topic 7 Risk & Crisis Management and Topic 3 Technology & Innovation.
Thank you for your support and feedback welcome!
Stay safe. Stay well. Richard

Dear colleagues, - hope this message finds you and your families well.
At the Institute of Digital Technologies for Communication at USI – Università della Svizzera italiana (Lugano, Switzerland) we have a specific focus on the applications of eLearning to Tourism education, and we believe that eLearning might be very powerful now to support the resilience of Tourism.
As our small contribution, we have just launched an initiative in this field, re-opening three MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) we have produced in collaboration with others, and several other related free resources.
Namely:
MOOCs
- eTourism: Communication Perspectives
- Tourism Management at UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Volume 1)
- Tourism Management at UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Volume 2)
- Updated list of eLearning programs about tourism destinations
Educational game
- WHACY – World Heritage Awareness Campaign for Youth in Southern African Development Community (SADC) - Apple - Google
Several publications/research lines on eLearning in Tourism
Should you evaluate that (some of) these resources might be of interest for you, your students, your industry partners, please feel free to share them with interested players.
Should you be interested in further conversations on the applications of eLearning to Tourism or on collaborative research projects, do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you very much for your interest, and kind regards,
Nadia
