BLM  &  a New Earth

Driven by both COVID-19 & Black Live Matter, How can tourism contribute to overcoming all forms of discrimination and exploitation of peoples and the planet to create a New Earth?

“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity”
Dr. Martin Luther King

This section of Travel and Tourism Transformed is inspired by the international movement to address racial and ethnic discrimination and exploitation that has emerged following the death of George Floyd in the US. TRINET discussions have also strongly supported this movement. Although not directly related to COVID-19, we see the global response to this incident as timely in furthering the goals of creating a "new normal" for the New Earth, and for travel and tourism, that is more equitable and caring for all beings, and more in line with the goals of sustainability.
